Switchover — an email switch service by Dennis Yates

Privacy policy

Effective 18 October 2026 · hello@emailswitchover.com · 0477 416 417

Seller: Dennis Yates, sole trader, ABN 52 137 373 213, 17 Morna Point Rd, Anna Bay NSW 2316. Switchover is the name of this service.

In this policy, “I”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Dennis Yates. It explains how I handle personal information when you visit emailswitchover.com, register your interest, buy the Switch Plan or Switchover: done with you, or contact me.

In short. I collect only what I need to deliver your order and answer you. I never ask for your passwords or one-time codes. I don't sell your details, share them for advertising, or use analytics or tracking pixels. Your details are held with a few service providers (Stripe, Cloudflare and Google), some of them outside Australia. You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.

1. The Australian Privacy Principles

As a small business I may be exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). I haven't opted in to the Act, but I aim to handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and this policy is written with them in mind.

2. What I collect

You can browse the site without giving me any personal information. You can't buy anonymously or under a pseudonym, because I need to know who you are and how to reach you to deliver the service and meet tax rules.

3. Cookies

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If you switch the price currency, one small cookie (“cur”) remembers your choice for a year. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site. Stripe's checkout pages are run by Stripe and use Stripe's own cookies, as described in Stripe's privacy policy.

4. Why I collect it

I use your details to: deliver your Switch Plan or session; book and confirm session times in your time zone and mine; email you about your order; handle refunds, questions and complaints; work out the correct price, currency and tax (including evidence of where you're located for GST purposes); keep business and tax records; prevent fraud and protect the site; and, if you registered interest and agreed, tell you when bookings open. I won't use your details for anything else unless you agree or the law allows or requires it. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email I send.

5. Access to your email and domain accounts

Never send me a password, one-time code or recovery code. As the Service Terms (clause 3) explain, during a done-with-you job you make the changes yourself while I guide you on a screen-share, or you give me limited access through your provider's own delegate or DNS-only tools.

6. Who I share it with

I share your details only with the service providers I use to run this service, and only as far as they need to provide their services to me:

I may also give information to my accountant or tax adviser, or where the law requires it (for example to the Australian Taxation Office). I don't sell your details, rent them, or share them with partners or advertisers. If someone referred you to me, I don't tell them anything about your order unless you ask me to.

7. Overseas disclosure

Stripe, Cloudflare and Google store and process data in the United States and other countries, and Cloudflare's network operates worldwide. Zoom and Google Meet may also process session data in the United States. I choose established providers that publish their own privacy and security commitments, but overseas laws may not protect your information in the same way as Australian law.

8. Keeping it secure

Your details are held in my accounts with Stripe, Cloudflare and Google, not on paper or loose files. Only I have access to these accounts. I use AI assistant tools, run under my own accounts, to help me manage bookings and prepare your plan; they process your details only to help me deliver your order. The site is served only over HTTPS, and I never ask for or store your passwords. No system is perfectly secure; if I become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, I'll tell you as soon as practicable, explain what happened and what you can do. As a small business I may not be covered by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, but I'll follow this approach anyway.

9. How long I keep it

10. Seeing and correcting your details

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@emailswitchover.com. There's no charge. I'll respond within 7 days and act on your request within 30 days. If I can't do what you ask (for example, because I must keep tax records), I'll tell you why.

11. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your personal information, email hello@emailswitchover.com or write to Dennis Yates, 17 Morna Point Rd, Anna Bay NSW 2316, Australia. I'll acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992 for information about your options. Because I'm a small business that may be exempt from the Privacy Act, the OAIC may not be able to investigate a complaint about me. If you're outside Australia, you can also contact your local consumer or privacy regulator.

12. If you're outside Australia

Your details are handled the same way wherever you live. I don't currently offer the service to people located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland (see Service Terms, clause 11).

Customers in the United States. I don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and I don't use analytics, tracking pixels or ad networks. Whatever state you live in, you can ask to see, correct or delete your details at hello@emailswitchover.com, and I won't treat you differently for asking. Emails I send you include my postal address and a way to opt out, and I act on opt-outs within 5 business days.

13. Children

This service is for businesses and adults. It isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

14. Changes to this policy

If I change this policy I'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change significantly affects how I handle details I already hold, I'll tell affected customers by email.
